Historic Waterloo

Address: 85 King Street North
Year Built: 1871

This vernacular building was built in 1871. It is a now-rare example of a banked building in Waterloo, being built into the hillside behind it. Previously a private residence, from 1998 until recently it had been an Irish pub, Failte. The stucco exterior dates from its conversion to a pub. When the building was an Irish pub it was possible to see the original brick walls from inside.
